Why Should I Restart My Computer Regularly?
When it comes to computers, there are a lot of moving parts inside making things function how they do. As these parts continue to move and work inside your device, wear-and-tear occurs slowly over time. The longer the computer is in use, the more wear-and-tear that occurs. Shutting down/restarting your computer while not in use can stop this wear-and-tear from occurring so quickly. Another great reason to restart your device periodically is to have a “fresh start”. When we use our computers, certain apps and processes begin to sap RAM and can even continue to do so once closed in some cases. Restarting the device will stop all of these processes, ensuring the memory is going to the task at hand. We recommend restarting the device at least once a week at a minimum, however, if you are not using your computer for an extended period of time, shutting it down may be best.
How Should I Shutdown/Restart My Device?
When it comes to shutting down or restarting your computer, many people just press and hold the power button; this, however, isn’t the best way of doing things. We recommend always shutting down apps/programs and then navigating to your start menu to press either Shut Down or Restart.
